Matt Deacon

Born in Liverpool, England, Matt Deacon moved to Christchurch, New Zealand in 1998 where he
works as a full time guitar tutor. Matt released his eponymous first album locally in 2004. Mostly instrumental, guitar oriented and musically diverse, it received good reviews in national music magazines,

and was playlisted on local student radio.

Matt studied at MAINZ in 2005 where he improved his recording skills and techniques.

Not wanting to risk association with singer-songwriter type people and their nightmarish,
cliche-riddled music, Matt changed his working name to......

The Bob Lazar Story

......and released a new album in May 2006. Titled (sic), it continued on from where his debut album
left off, this time a little heavier
and more guitar oriented but still minus the
10 minute long wanky solos common in the progressive rock genre.

Within a week of release, it had already featured on the homegrown section of a show
on National Radio here in New Zealand
and has received airplay on student radio station bfm.

Currently rehearsing a live band for gigs towards the end of 2006,
The Bob Lazar Story aims to bring quality music

to people that prefer an aural challenge.
